When we left our house this morning I saw this pair of Mallard ducks on the lawn right across the street.

She is sleeping with her head tucked under her wing while he keeps watch.

He stayed really calm but checked us out and watched us until we were gone.

I haven’t ever seen ducks in our neighborhood before, so this was a very rare and exciting treat.

Do you ever see ducks or other wild animals around where you live?

Yep! I used to see them occasionally when I was younger in our yard. It was always a fun treat when they showed up. I recently saw some on a patch of grass in the middle of a busy parking lot. I was worried about them choosing that place to hang out. Makes me wonder if they were just chased out of their natural habitat.

That was such a Mr. Rogers post : )
Yes, while hiking in Mosquito Creek the other day we saw this totally exotic bird with a very long neck.
Otherwise the pug, Kiko, who lives above me is quite wild.

Mr Rogers? I guess so. You should see me in a cardigan!

Ehh…I’ve seen those ducks at a designated park around here. At certain times in rainy days..especially in Autumn…they wander in huge flocks.

Funny how they wander from park to park.

I also recall seeing two eagles on top of this tall church. Standing on the cross. Some say it was epic. I say it’s “something you ain’t see everyday”

Ah! You’ve just reminded me to throw some quinoa out for the pigeons that perch on my 5th story windowsill 😉
