Blogathon 2009 Begins (# 1 of 49)

I’ve just sat down to begin my 24 hours of writing. For those of you just coming across this blog, I’ll be posting another 48 times in the next 24 hours, every half hour, without sleep. I’m hoping there will be some level of quality in the posts, even when I’ve been up for 16, 18, 20 hours.

I’ve got a whole slew of topics lined up, and many people have suggested topics. I’ll try to give credit when I use one of your topics for a post.

A huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored me for this event. With all of the generous donations, you have raised $588 that will go towards Liberation BCs outreach work. Thank you!

There are a whole bunch of local bloggers participating in this event, all blogging for different charities. A couple of them, who are organizing a big event downtown, which I may make it to later today, were profiled in the Vancouver Sun:

Here’s a post by Raul, another local blogger, about the event:

I love seeing so many people who are so different, joining in on an event that’s all about giving and helping. We’re all working to raise money for our favorite nonprofits and charities, but we’re also promoting the idea of helping and caring and involvement. The more involved people are, the better the world can be.
