June volunteer night

For June’s volunteer night, we gathered to make posters for our weekly chicken vigils!  (The vigils are held every Friday morning from 7 to 9 AM at Commercial Drive and Hastings Street.  Get more details.  We’d love to see you out there!)

Thousands of chickens are slaughtered at Hallmark Poultry Processors every day, and our brave volunteers are out there to remind everybody.

John reveals what happens behind those big, gray walls.

We are there to raise awareness, not to cause conflict.

Thai waterproofs a sign with a simple, beautiful message.

Almira reminds everybody of the best way to help animals.

Andrea is a true friend to chickens!

Thousands of chickens are slaughtered every single second–an unfathomable, faceless mass. Sometimes, creating a connection with one individual bird makes a difference.

Board member and chicken vigil coordinator Mary-Chris met Kerry at Farm Sanctuary's northern California shelter.

A big thank you to all the wonderful, enthusiastic activists who came out to June’s volunteer night!  You can see other pictures from the evening here.

Our next volunteer night will be a leafleting event on July 9th.  Hope to see you there!
