Our first year back in action!

Liberation BC has had a busy year, with multiple events and volunteer opportunities to support our mission of promoting animal rights and a vegan lifestyle. From tabling at local events to volunteering at animal sanctuaries, our community of passionate advocates has been working hard to make a difference.

Last June, we were thrilled to have a table at the Planted Expo convention thanks to Virchew, a local vegan dog food company who generously donated their table to us. It was a great opportunity to connect with other like-minded individuals and promote our cause.

In July, we organized a volunteer work day at Hearts on Noses, a pig sanctuary. The owner, Janice, always appreciates the help and we were happy to support this amazing organization.

August brought us some much-needed laughter and relaxation with our Laughing Yoga wellness event, which was hosted at Trout Lake. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow activists and recharge our batteries.

In October, we had another volunteer work day, this time at Rabbitats, an animal rescue group that focuses on rescuing rabbits. We were able to lend a helping hand and provide support for this important cause.

We wrapped up the year with two more volunteer work days at Hearts on Noses in November, and a co-hosted screening of the documentary 'Milked' in partnership with P.E.A.C.E. The film was followed by a Q&A with a local man who worked in the dairy industry and was terminated from his job after speaking out about the cruel conditions that cows suffer.

Full details of our 2022 accomplishments are contained in our 2022 AGM Minutes.

As we move into 2023, we are excited to continue our efforts to promote animal rights and a vegan lifestyle. We held our Annual General Meeting in January and are planning more events throughout the year, including a recent tabling opportunity at the End Times Garage Sale in February, where we sold local vegan baked goods and other donated items from our vegan community. And just last weekend, we had another volunteer work day at Rabbitats, where we were able to contribute to their efforts to rescue and care for rabbits. We are expecting to announce a volunteer day at a sanctuary on April 29th.

We are grateful to everyone who has supported us in our efforts and look forward to continuing to build a strong community of effective animal advocates.
