Fun Cruelty-Free Event for Easter!

When: Saturday, April 11th, 2-4 PM, with dinner afterwards
Where: Vancouver Art Gallery (Robson Street side)

Come out and join us for our cruelty-free leafletting event!  In honour of the Easter Bunny, we're going to be spreading the word about animal testing.  Everyone is encouraged to wear Easter-themed outfits (pink or white shirts, bunny costumes, etc). We'll supply the bunny ears!

We will be handing out Compassionate Shopping Guides, Cruelty-Free Shopping Guides, and Be a Bunny's Honey stickers. Last year we gave out about 800 Cruelty-Free Shopping Guides and just as many stickers!

Volunteers Needed!  A Meat-Free Earth Day!

Join Liberation BC, Earthsave, and the Vancouver Humane Society to spread the word about the devastating impact of meat, eggs, and dairy on our environment as part of a campaign to promote a "meat-free Earth Day."

Campaign launch:

When: Wednesday, April 15th, 12-1 PM
Where: Vancouver Art Gallery (Robson St. side)

We will be giving out information outside of the Art Gallery on Robson Street on April 15th, from noon until 1pm. Volunteers are needed to help hold signs and hand out literature.

Rush hour leafleting:

When: Thursday-Tuesday, April 16, 17, 20, & 21, 4:30-6 PM
Where: various locations

Volunteers are needed to help hand out literature during the evening rush hour at various locations around the city. This will be easy and friendly leafleting in small groups.

Earth Day Leafletting and Food Give-Away!:

When: Wednesday, April 22nd, 12-2 PM
Where: Vancouver Art Gallery (Robson St. side)

On Earth Day (April 22nd) we will be giving out food! Come join us from noon until 2pm in front of the Art Gallery on Robson Street to help inform passersby about the environmental benefits of a meat-free diet, and give out delicious vegan goodies!

Liberation BC Interview

Here are 5 easy five-minute actions to help animals!

Before you dye those Easter eggs this year, remember the chickens who laid them, whether they are free-range and organic or not.  So why not opt for some fun, animal-friendly alternatives?  Farm Sanctuary has two links for you:

Passover starts on Thursday, April 9th--will you be the only vegetarian or vegan at the Seder?  It might seem a little daunting at first, since, as Jasmin Singer says, "...few holidays are as centered around food as much as Passover."  Check out Passover without Sacrifice, full of information and recipes for a delicious, veganized--but still traditional--Seder plate.

If you've spent any time on Robson Street lately, you may have noticed the big anti-seal hunt poster in the window of LUSH Cosmetics.  That's right--they've started a "Save Our Seals" campaign!  Support them by adding your name to the LUSH petition, already almost 10,000 signatures strong: http://www.lush.com/saveourseals/petition/

And check out their fun "Baby Seal" soap and Charity Cream while you're there!

Great news: Israel is considering a ban on the production and sale of fur

Do you support the idea of a fur-free Israel?  Contact Israeli Knesset Member Nitzan Horowitz with this easy form and let him know.

Please!  No more fur at the Bay!  Add your name to the petition:

P.S. Your donations help animals! Liberation BC is an all-volunteer organization, and your donations help to pay for printing costs, the website's bandwidth.

We would like to invite you to become an official member of Liberation BC. For $15 per year you can join and support the work of Vancouver's most active animal rights group. As an all volunteer-run organization, all help is needed and appreciated. You'll also get a cool button exclusive to members!
