EARTH DAY LEAFLETTING AND CUPCAKE GIVEAWAY
Join Liberation BC, Earthsave, and the Vancouver Humane Society to spread the word about the devastating impact of meat, eggs, and dairy on our environment (http://liberationbc.org/issues/environment) as part of a campaign to promote a "meat-free Earth Day."
Campaign launch:
When: Wednesday, April 15th, 12-1 PM
Where: Vancouver Art Gallery (Robson St. side)
We will be giving out information outside of the Art Gallery on Robson Street on April 15th, from noon until 1pm. Volunteers are needed to help hold signs and hand out literature.
Rush hour leafleting:
When: Thursday-Tuesday, April 16, 17, 20, & 21, 4:30-6 PM
Where: various locations
Volunteers are needed to help hand out literature during the evening rush hour at various locations around the city. This will be easy and friendly leafleting in small groups.
Earth Day Leafletting and Food Give-Away!:
When: Wednesday, April 22nd, 12-2 PM
Where: Vancouver Art Gallery (Robson St. side)
On Earth Day (April 22nd) we will be giving out food! Come join us from noon until 2pm in front of the Art Gallery on Robson Street to help inform passersby about the environmental benefits of a meat-free diet, and give out delicious vegan goodies!

CANDLELIGHT VIGIL for Lab Animals
When: Friday, April 24th, starting at 7 PM
Where: Robson & Howe (by the UBC Bookstore)
The AD-AV Society of BC is holding a candlelight vigil for laboratory animals, and they need your help:
Please meet us...at 7p.m., where we will be leafleting until dusk:
then we will make a slow march along Burrard Street to St. Paul's Hospital
for a 2 hour silent candlelight vigil...

Many people don't realize that animal testing is a major industry in Canada, with 250,000,000 dogs, cats, birds, mice, rats, and others dying annually--an average of one every 16 seconds. Here in British Columbia, millions of animals suffer at UBC, SFU, BC Children's Hospital, VGH, St. Paul's Hospital, and the ICORD Centre.
