We are dedicated to getting out on the streets and delivering information directly to people.
To do this, we need to have effective outreach tools. We make use of a television, a tent, leaflets, signs, and banners. You can help by sponsoring Liberation BC's outreach efforts and making a donation towards the purchase of these vital outreach tools.
Video is a powerful outreach tool, able to change hearts and minds through presentation of indisputable truth. Whether it's an anti-fur event, vegan outreach, or a foie gras protest, having video means that it's much more likely that people will really get the info.
Rain or shine, the truth needs to be told. Having a sturdy tent make it so that we can be out even in bad weather. A tent is also useful for attracting attention to our displays and information. Our current tent is starting to show its age. Having a backup will mean that you can depend on Liberation BC being able to be out on the street for the rest of the winter (and all year) showing video and giving out information.
We provide information that is pertinent, local, and timely by producing our own leaflets. Producing our own leaflets also is cheaper than ordering and shipping leaflets from the US. However, there is still a cost, and we give away anywhere from 100 - 1000 leaflets each week. During the two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving we gave away 1,500 leaflets with information about how turkeys are raised and treated on factory farms. Black and white printing is less expensive than colour printing, but colour printing is more noticeable and more effective for outreach. Ideally, all of our leaflets would be printed in colour, but our funds are limited. Help us be more effective and reach more people by subsidizing the printing of a leaflet.
Out on the street our voices need to be heard.
Documenting our activities is very important, especially when we do disruptions or interact with security guards or police. A video camera would make it possible for us to create videos and add another avenue for outreach.
Being noticed is key to getting the message out. Large banners for events would improve our visual presentation, enabling us to do more with fewer people. A large banner can cover the windows of a business, is more noticeable from further away, and can be held up by just a couple of people.
A multifunction printer for our office would enable us to quickly and cheaply print out petition sheets, flyers, etc. Currently all of our printing has to be done at a print shop. Our own printer would save us money on these small printing jobs. This would mean more resources we could put towards outreach tools, like leaflet printing, signs, and banners.
Any donations received beyond the amount needed for any specific items will be allocated based on where the money is most needed.
