Eating Vegan at UBC, part 2: Sushi

So, this is a little embarrassing. Long, long ago, I started a series of posts on vegan food at UBC, but I never got past the first post. (I guess it was a series of post.) Well, it’s a new year, and time to get that series going again. This time, there will be more

Eating Vegan at UBC, part 1: Curry

In the last couple months or so, I’ve had multiple (non-vegan) colleagues at UBC ask what I can possibly find to eat on campus. I don’t think I gave a very good answer to any of them, mainly because I’ve never thought of UBC as a place where it’s hard to find vegan food. So

Allergen-Free Vegan Pizza!

Sometimes people ask what vegans eat. Sometimes they ask what vegans with allergies or food intolerances eat. This post is about that very topic. VeganMofo #13: Stock Market

Love soup?  Me too!  Problem with loving soup is that it is so hard to find vegan soup anywhere.  I was plesantly surprised when I discovered Stock Market at Granville Island. There’s usually 3 soups every day.  A meat soup, a seafood soup and a vegetarian soup.  The vegetarian soup may not always be vegan

VeganMofo#12: BBT Cafe

BBT is a cute little Taiwanese cafe/restaurant hidden in the quiet neighborhood of Kerrisdale.  I frequent the cafe (especially in the summer) for their refreshing bubble tea with lemon grass jelly (see VeganMofo #6).   For years, this was all I would go to the cafe for since the menu contained only one very boring vegetarian
